Artists-in-residencies (A.I.R.)

Gallery of Dreams has hosted an artists-in-residences (AIR) program for selected artists since 2018. AIRS gives our resident artists the opportunity to create a new body of work in a provided studio space which will conclude with a solo exhibition. All AIRs resident artists are also tasked with developing relevant programs in tandem with their art-making process in order to engage the broader community. Through studio visits, lectures, talks, and workshops, the public can be part of an exciting creative process with a working artist.

Gallery of Dreams is excited to announce the commencement of its 2024 Artist in Residency (A.I.R.) program, made possible by a generous grant from The Arts Fund of the North Texas Community Foundation and Fort Works Art. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to nurturing creativity, community engagement, and the advancement of the arts in Fort Worth. This residency is open exclusively to Fort Worth artists, with the key goal of supporting local artists in their advancement as professional artists within the community and beyond.

The A.I.R. program will be hosted by Fort Works Art Gallery and offers dedicated studio space from July 1 to September 30, 2024, providing ample time for the selected artist to bring their artistic vision to life. Also included is a cash award of $7,500 for the selected artist, along with a monthly stipend for material expenses. The residency will conclude with a solo exhibition, providing the artist a platform to showcase their work, receive feedback, and interact with the community and other artists at large.

Esteemed North Texas jurors include Benito Huerta and Letitia Huckaby, who will serve as the selection committee for 2024.
